2022

September 2022: Calligraphy was officially recognized as a first-level academic discipline in postgraduate education.

2019

July 2019: China mandated compulsory calligraphy, music and fine arts courses to strengthen aesthetic education in schools.

2024

2024: Following MOE’s exam rules, 12 provinces launch provincial unified calligraphy enrollment exams.

2021

April 2021: MOE established the Calligraphy Education Steering Committee to promote traditional Chinese calligraphy in campus education.

2024

2024: MOE boosts primary & secondary Chinese handwriting education to build cultural confidence.
